Gratitude: It’s a Great Day to be Grateful
✨GRATITUDE✨ This is literally one of my favorite times of the year. It’s filled with love and kind heartedness, appreciation and support, gratefulness and laughter and so much more. Just thinking about it makes me all warm inside ☺️ With it being Thanksgiving, what are you most you most thankful for this year? I’m giving thanks for my FAITH, FAMILY and FRIENDS this year.
FAITH – God has been downloading small nuggets in my heart all year long. 💃🏽💃🏽 Just to feel His presence in my life brings peace like no other. There was a time I thought He forgot about me😢, so to have Him show up and show out in even the smallest way brings great joy to my life. For that I am thankful.
FAMILY – What would I do without them?!? They are the absolute BOMB.COM. They are my glue and keep me sane. They cheer me on and keep me grounded. They elevate me and love me for who I am. From every text message and family vacation to every requested Amazon prime order and family group chat, they are truly one of a kind and I wouldn’t trade them for the world. For that I am thankful.
FRIENDS – They all hold a special place in my heart. We laugh together, we cry together and we just down right get through life together. The memories we’ve created keep me laughing and our bonds keep me going. They make life fun and God hand picked each one just for me! For that I am thankful.
THE MEANING OF THANKSGIVING
To me Thanksgiving is a time of reflection and inspiration. Use this moment to reflect on your year thus far…the good, the bad and even the ugly! Ask yourself questions like:
- What got you here?
- What goals have you checked off and which ones have you not and why?
- What would you change?
- What’s next?
Reflection allows you to see where you are and make it clear for where you are going! As you bask in the mist of family and friends, use that energy for inspiration. Soak up the feels and allow it to catapult you to finish the year off strong💪🏾 There’s work to be done and this is a great time to recharge. Take full advantage and you’ll thank yourself later…EAT, PRAY, LOVE!!
food, Food and more FOOD!!!
We all know that food is a gateway to the soul. 😂 There’s nothing like a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal. From collard greens to sweet potato pie 🙌🏾 it’s like everything taste better on Thanksgiving!! My three favorite Thanksgiving menu items are:
- Yams
- Collard Greens
- Turkey
With everything else right behind these three. I honestly just love it all!
What are your favorite Thanksgiving menu items?
I think we will all be detoxing and heading to the gym come Monday morning ☺️, but until then let’s let our hair down and be merry💃🏽
LEND A HELPING HAND
With this being one of my favorite times of the year, it of course has to include one of my favorite things…SERVICE. Serving others during any time of the year is great, but during the holidays it’s truly amazing. I had the pleasure of helping hand out turkeys last Saturday and the joy on their faces as they left with turkey in hand is what warmed my heart the most! While volunteering, I took a moment to walk a turkey to a lady’s car. We literary talked the whole way to her vehicle. She shared with me what she had going on in her life and how she was so appreciative of us doing this☺️ In that moment it wasn’t about me at all. My focus was on something greater than me: servitude and that’s honestly when I felt the my best💛 Doing an act of kindness can literally boost someone’s day and change your life all at the same time. During this season, give back some kind of way; whether it’s your time, your money or both. We all know it’s always better to give than receive❤️
I pray that you have a HAPPY HAPPY THANKSGIVING full of joy and laughter with lots of plates and slices of cake and mini naps in between.
It’s a great day to be grateful 💛
Be Blessed. Be Bold. Be BeYOUtiful.
