It All Came Full Circle

February 11, 2018 ♥️ I’ll never forget that day! I was in Atlanta, GA celebrating love and the bride-to-be at a bridal shower. We were wrappings things up and I just so happened to take a glance at my phone. I had a text from ♥️Baby♥️, that’s bae! I opened the text message expecting to see kissy faces or something silly, but the words he sent were much more beautiful than that. The text read “I’m thinking about joining the Brook”. Literally, my heart smiled. I was instantly filled with awe and amazement! I remember sending the screenshot to my girls with the caption LOOK AT GOD 😭🙌🏾♥️

Here’s the backstory:

Just days prior, we had just ended our church wide consecration. One of the things that I prayed about was bringing my boyfriend to my church and strengthening our relationship. That first part sounds so selfish 😬 now that I think about it, but it was truly my heart’s desire. We had been dating for about two years at this time and I felt like if we were fed on Sundays and Wednesdays under the same teachings that our relationship would truly go to the next level. 

We had numerous conversations about him coming to my church prior to this. He would visit, but he just didn’t want to make it his church home for one reason or another 😩

So during our 2018 consecration I prayed and went before God. I didn’t want to be one of those families where the mom and kids go to one church and the dad goes to another or some combination of that 😬 (yes, I was really thinking about the details of my future lol) 

Well 15 days…yes 15 DAYS after our consecration ended something happened. God heard my prayers. He heard my cries. He saw my sacrifices. 😭 That text message was everything to me!! 

Bae started attending my church regularly. Not only did he attend, but he joined and serves faithfully on numerous ministries 🙌🏾 He’s really making a name for himself other than Kia’s boo! ☺️

When I tell you God showed up and showed out!!! Wow is all I can say! Months went by and our relationship grew to new heights. We had intentional conversations about God. We had real plans about our future. We were in the best place we had ever been. ☺️

Then on 1/1/19, God blew my mind again!!!!! My boo proposed to me at CHURCH 😭 can you say FULL CIRCLE. 🙌🏾🙌🏾

God takes the smallest details that we think are so insignificant, remembers them and blows them up to show us that He hears us and cares. I’m truly grateful and I’ll never be the same. 

I’ll never forget the conversations I had with my friends. I’ll never forget the tears and frustration. I’ll never forget the sacrifices we both made together. I’ll never forget! 

I’m here to tell you to never lose faith! Even when things don’t feel like they are moving or going your way. Hold fast! Hold on to the promises He gave you! Pray and cry, if you have to, and then pray some more! Do whatever you have to in order to get His attention. 

I now have a fiancé 💍 and it’s all because of God…IT ALL CAME FULL CIRCLE!

Reality check: It took a minute to get this one out! I was literally crying as I wrote it out. Yesterday i was having a blah moment, all in my feelings and was feeling some type of way and not a good one at that. Today, God quickly reminded me that He will do it again. Sometimes you have to take a look over your own life and realize that although things may not be exactly how you want them, things are perfect in His eyes. His works are always on time 🙌🏾
