Bougie on a Budget: The Perfect Trouser

I know it’s been a minute 😬 Mark my word I will NOT being saying that again☺ Consistency is going to be my BFF (hold me to that too!) So, now that formalities are out of the way, LETS TALK! I’ve been wanting to begin this series sometime now and I’m finally doing it💃🏾…Bougie on a Budget! Who said looking bougie had to break the bank??? It doesn’t at all my friend and I’m here to share with you my tips and tricks. Ready?

First and foremost, I’m avid bargain shopper which means I never (well hardly ever) buy anything full price…period! Coupons, discount codes and bargain days are your friends or will be soon enough.

For my first bougie on a budget segment, I want to focus on these amazing burnt orange trousers. They are the perfect fit, length, color and material (they stretch my friend, which was the icing on the cake). I stumbled upon these gems on a rushed trip to Forever 21 with the bestie. Although, the trip was somewhat rushed, I didn’t let that get to me. There is literally a science shopping at Forever 21, in store and online, and the main thing is take your time boo. I remember walking pass them and quickly snatching them up. But I couldn’t just buy them, they had to undergo the ultimate test…the dressing room. When they passed the dressing room test, I was actually pleasantly surprised and to the register I went.

So to help you out, I wanted to leave you with a few helpful tips that I use when trying to find the perfect trouser.

1. If possible, go shopping in the actual store. It’s so much easier to actually try on an item, unless you know your exact size. Mom always says, “Don’t knock it, until you try it on!” and she is so right! I’ve found a few great pieces that I would have left right in the store if I didn’t them on first.
2. If going shopping at the physical store is not an option, then reviews will be your best friend. Read all the reviews and comments and follow the size chart. Knowing your measurements is crucial.
3. High-waist! Look for high-waisted trousers. A high-waist is flattering on all body shapes and sizes and even gives the allusion of longer legs for my fellow petite friends.

Nonetheless, we are on this bougie on a budget journey together and we are going to master it together, one step at a time.
