The Year of Yassss

Hello Beautiful!!!!

FYI, we are all some baddies(just in case you forgot *two snaps*)!

A couple weeks ago after Beyonce wowed me with her amazing, cultural, woman-empowered performance, I had a sudden pep in my step to run the world! I started looking at my goals and suddenly realized that we are creeping up on the end of the first quarter and then I was SHOOK! Time is flying by…of course it does when you’re having fun. Although we haven’t been able to embrace the consistent spring weather, we have surely approached a milestone thus far.

I love to reflect and think things over a lot (ask any of my friends) and I couldn’t help but take this time to reflect on US. Yes, you, me, us and we. We are all GOALS!!! I’ve seen some bomb accomplishments in these short four months and I’m in total awe of what we are really doing in 2018. Can you count how many times you’ve said “YASSSS” this year alone, I know I can’t.

We are starting new businesses and non-profits, graduating from school, marrying our best friends, birthing bundles of joy, buying houses, buying cars, getting out of debt, becoming the “first” to excel in major areas and so much more. WE are taking 2018 by the horns and showing it who is the BOSS.

But maybe, just maybe you find yourself saying “That’s not me, I haven’t done any of those things”. My response to you is “YET!” You haven’t done any of those things YET. 2018 is the year to make things happen. Some one is waiting on you to do that very thing that frightens you but yet constantly floods your dreams at night. This is the year to step out on faith and truly claim what is yours. 2018 is the year you say yes to YOU and unlike any other year you keep the momentum going ALL YEAR LONG!

Although I’m not a teacher, by trade, i would like to leave you will a little assignment and that is: TAKE THE FIRST STEP AND DON’T LOOK BACK! Start that business, finish those classes, cut up that credit card, save the money for your down payment…But whatever you do, remember to do it for YOU. As an extra bonus just know we are waiting on you and we are on this ride together. For the longest I talked about starting a blog focused on beauty, hair, makeup and everything in between. I would tell my village(yes, the village still works!) this is the year I’m going to do it and that year never came until now. I’m finally taking my own advice and I would like to formally welcome you to LakiaChristina.com (yes, us millennial have manners!) I hope you enjoy and follow me on this beautiful journey called life.

If you don’t take anything else from this remember that someone is waiting for YOU to be your best YOU! I have a feeling my “YASSS” responses will grow exponentially in the near future, 2018 isn’t ready for what we have in store and I can’t wait to watch these stories unfold.
